Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is probably the best known of wireless data connections available to end users. Though not an internet connection itself, Wi-Fi is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance, which has set a specific standard for these devices providing wireless connection capability (ie routers and hot spots).

Though Wi-Fi is capable of carrying voice and image data from devices, for VoIP, important wireless options include DECT and Bluetooth as well.
